Tight and Curvy, Long and Straight PCH Becomes "HerHighway" for the Day>

HerHighway.com a team of female automotive experts on a mission to empower women with bumper-to-bumper automobile knowledge and everything along the way launched the annual “Driving Breast Cancer Awareness” campaign. The caravan event was established for women that cannot participate in the National Breast Cancer Month Walks as nearly one million women will undergo breast surgeries this year alone, impacting their lifestyles and families according to the National Cancer Institute and ASPS statistics.

“Our group enjoyed an exhilarating driving experience in vehicles courtesy of Acura, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Honda and Jeep,” said HerHighway Editor in Chief and National Female Automotive Expert, Christina Selter.

The Morning News helicopter was hovering overhead reporting live as our caravan departed, escorted by a Santa Monica Traffic Officer. We then rallied up and down the amazing coastline on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) from Santa Monica through Malibu.  Drivers included were journalists from HerHighway.com, KBB.com (Kelley Blue Book), AutoTrader.com, AutoBytel.com, TrueCars.com, Automotive.com, MotorTrend.com, Edmunds.com, Cars.com, MotherProof.com and China-EV.org, they put ten exciting new vehicles through their paces.”

After our scenic road trip on this wold-famous stretch of highway, the mostly female group of journalists mingled with dreamy Santa Monica Firemen, outfitted in snug pink tee shirts they donned in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. A guided tour of Santa Monica, and the event concluded with a delectable organic lunch catered by True Food Kitchen, in the garden patio. Event strategic alliances included Mothers Automotive Wax and Polishes, Apollo Precision Pink Tools and HauteToffee, purveyors of delectable whole almond toffee candies.

It was a great test drive for next year’s much anticipated coast-to-coast “Driving Breast Cancer Awareness” exodus that will rumble from Los Angeles to New York City, which has already had more then one hundred participants registered creating dozens of new vehicle teams. Along the route, automotive and safety experts from HerHighway will collaborate with local fire departments and law enforcement agencies to educate women about the proper seat belt adjustment for optimal comfort and safety.
