Becky Antioco Automotive Journalist>

Becky Antioco worked as a writer and editor with AAA for nearly 15 years, and is now venturing out on her own to write about her passions: cars and travel. Her car reviews appear on AAA websites nationwide and she was a contributor to AAA’s annual Top Picks awards. She is a jury member for the Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards and an automotive contributor for When she’s not writing or traveling, you can find her on the tennis courts or on the hiking trails with her dogs and kids.

How excited or why are your participating with HerHighway Drive Breast Cancer Awareness?

I’m very excited, not only to drive the cars and support the cause, but also to meet some great women in the automotive field.

As a woman what features are your favorites in a car?

I love a fast car, so I guess I would say a big engine with lots of horsepower, but I’ve been known to have a lead foot even without those features.  A must have for me is also iPod connectivity. From a practical standpoint, as a mom, I need cargo space and passenger room.

What is your proudest social media achievement?

Well, I’d classify myself as a relative newcomer to this whole thing, having come from a magazine background. So, I guess the best is yet to come.

What is your current challenge at work?

Switching gears from print to online.

What is your top advise to other women for social media?

Network. Try it out. Don’t be intimidated by all that’s out there. I’ve learned to take it one step at a time, mastering one then dipping my feet into the water slowly in other areas.

Dream job?

Driving, traveling, writing.

What you do to relax?

I play tennis, read a lot and love to travel.

Who have you mentored, or/and did someone mentor you in social media to help you get started?

Currently looking for a good mentor. Hahaha. Then, hopefully, I’ll be good enough to mentoring someone else.
