Honda Odyssey

2011 Honda Odyssey It’s a Cooler Minivan>

Honda gets it. They understand that not all women (or men for that matter) are eager to make the transition from a coupe or sports sedan to a minivan. So Honda has consistently gone out of its way to design and build minivans that appeal to “non-minivan people.” That certainly holds true for the new Odyssey. This spacious and comfortable people mover received a major makeover for 2011, and it’s cooler than ever.

On the outside, the Odyssey’s new look is downright sporty. The sleek aerodynamic nose looks more like a Honda Civic than a minivan. And its lower profile and wide stance are outward expressions of the Odyssey’s spirited handling and performance. So whether you need the Odyssey to transport soccer players, antique furniture, or mother loads of shopping, you don’t have to forfeit the joy of driving. With its 3.5-litre high-tech V6 engine, the Odyssey can zip from zero to 60 MPH in about 8.3 seconds. It puts 248 horsepower at your disposal, yet it’s rated to get 28 miles per gallon out on the highway!

The Odyssey’s plush, updated cabin puts all controls and electronics comfortably in reach. The LX model seats seven passengers, and the three upper trim levels are set up to seat eight. Your family members, as well as your weekly “book club” girlfriends, will find comfortable seats in all three rows. For your mobile entertainment: there’s an ultra-wide 16.2-inch split screen display, a first-rate audio system, and a host of optional technology add-ons to elevate your Odyssey ownership experience.

When it comes to versatile seating and hauling capabilities, the Odyssey really shines. The second row can seat three people, or convert to two captain’s chairs by collapsing the middle section. The third row is called the Magic Seat, because virtually disappears with a simple touch. With both the second and third rows of seating in the stowed position, the Odyssey offers 148 cubic feet of cargo hauling capacity. So you can make a run to Lowe’s for home improvement supplies, and still have plenty room to hit LuluLemon, Quiksilver / Roxy or your other favorite retail hangouts on the way home.

The 2011 Honda Odyssey is a pleasantly styled people and cargo mover that brings an entirely new coolness factor to minivan ownership. Regardless of which model you choose, you will have plenty of technology and convenience features in the cabin… and plenty of window space to take in the scenery on your daily commutes or adventures in the Odyssey.
