2011 Honda Fit It Might Be Just Your Size>

Whether you’re buying, jeans, shoes, hats, or bras…it’s absolutely vital that the fit is just right. Well… the same holds true when buying a car. The zippy little Honda Fit is a great choice for a fuel-efficient, versatile and environmentally friendly car. And it can fit into your lifestyle in so many ways.

Let’s start with your budget. The 2011 Honda Fit has a base price of just $15,100. Its small engine will save you from having a fit at the gas pump. You’ll get about 27 miles per gallon around town and about 33 MPG zooming down the highway. Some small cars may claim better EPA gas mileage numbers, but we’d bet that most would have difficulty beating the Fit in real-world driving. Most women prefer their Fits with the five-speed automatic, but if you enjoy shifting your own gears, a five-speed manual transmission is a sporty option.

While engineered for maximum fuel economy, the Fit offers interior utility comparable to much larger vehicles. Believe it, the Honda Fit with rear seats folded offers up an amazing 57.3 cubic feet of cargo space. That’s more hauling capacity than some of the much larger crossover vehicles! Plus, the rear seats can also be hoisted upwards, allowing the cargo area to swallow up taller items — like appliance boxes or dog kennels.

On the safety front, the little Fit comes up big. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, six airbags and Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control are all standard. Every Fit model also includes fun tech features, like an auxiliary jack and a USB port for your Smartphone or MP3 player, plus 160-Watt AM/FM/CD Audio System with 4 Speakers. Better still, cruise control and keyless entry are also standard equipment for the 2011 model.

Behind the wheel, we couldn’t help but enjoy the Honda Fit’s driving dynamics. The peppy 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine generates 117 horsepower, but that feels about right for a car that weighs less than 2,500 pounds. Steering feels great too, precisely pointing the front wheels towards Nordstrom, Tiffany’s, the beach or mountains, or wherever you want to go. And even if you’re parallel parking impaired, you’ll squeeze into tight spaces easier than some of your jeans.

Her Highway’s bottom line: if you’re on a budget, care about the planet, or you’re just looking for a cute hatchback that’s a blast to drive, the Fit might be just your size. Click here for more details on pricing, options, warranty and local availability.
