2013 Kia Forte Yummy in Cookie Monster Blue>

The 2013 Kia Forte SX hatchback (5 door) comes in Corsa Blue and it screams “Cookie Monster.” I was very fond of that character when I was a kid. Maybe that explains my sweet tooth. And why I find myself drawn to this blue Forte. Lots of sweet treats make this quite the yummy car.

First of all, this 2.4 liter 4 cylinder has more horsepower and more torque than any hatchback in its class. (Compared to the Mazda3, Ford Focus and Hyundai Touring hatchbacks.) 173 hp at 6,000 rpm and 168 ft. lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpm means you can hit a lot of bakeries in search of the perfect Red Velvet Cupcake or German Chocolate Cake. That’s my kind of errand. And when you pass everyone up on the road, they can admire your back end with its LED taillights and spoiler. The Kia Forte is one slick hatchback.

Another unique feature that you won’t find in other hatchbacks are the paddle shifters. You will have fun shifting through all 6 speeds with both hands on the leather wrapped steering wheel.  The shifter is also leather-wrapped. And when you put your foot on the pedal, you’ll notice it’s metal. Slick and sporty! I love it.

Tech goodies include a killer AM/FM/CD/MP3/SiriusXM audio system, navigation system w/ SiriusXM Traffic and rear camera display. More? Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel controls, cruise control, USB and auxiliary inputs and a super cool EcoMinder to display your fuel efficiency.

With 60/40 split rear seats folded down, you’ll be able to store up to 53.1 cubic feet of items. When the seats are up, you can tote around 19.4 cubic feet of cargo with enough headroom for your passengers.

Add the leather for luxurious interior with front heating seats and you have got yourself a super sweet ride.

The 13.7-gallon tank will take you all over the city at 23 mpg and highway at 32 mpg. The Forte hatchback competes well in performance, fuel efficiency, features and price. With a starting MSRP of $19,800 and Kia’s generous 5-year 60,000-mile warranty with roadside assistance you can’t go wrong.
