2014 Kia Cadenza Big Luxury, Exquisite Styling>

Are small cars getting bigger…or are big cars getting smaller?
While that debate is still ongoing, one thing is clear: Korean carmaker Kia, mostly known for small economy cars like the Rio, and mini SUVs like the Sportage, is now going after the luxury car market in a BIG way with the new 2014 Cadenza. It’s no easy journey going from being a small car specialist to a serious competitor in the large, luxury sedan space, but after test-driving the new Cadenza, Kia has truly come a long way — in the right direction.

The beautiful exterior lines of the new Cadenza look equally good, whether resting next to the curb or flying down the highway. The frontal view of the sedan is stunning and could perhaps be mistaken for a Jaguar or Bentley. Every other angle is also easy on the eyes. Yes, it’s that handsome. And the big, bold upgraded 19-inch alloy wheels complemented the package just like the perfect pair of designer dress shoes.

Speaking of shoes…the new Cadenza is a great shopping vessel. Load up three or four friends (or furry friends Betty & Princess) and go! It has a cavernous trunk to stow your bags, boxes, or even ready-to-assemble furniture from Home Depot, Lowes, or Ikea. The fully loaded, richly equipped Cadenza we sampled not only had plenty of legroom and seating for five adults, but it had supple, white Nappa leather interior that oozed of comfort and class.
As you might expect from a carmaker’s top-of-the-line trim level, our Cadenza included a seemingly endless list of luxury features. Some standard items included: Navigation with 8-inch display, power windows and door locks, dual zone climate control with air filtration, Infinity Surround Sound Audio system, heated front seats, and power adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support. A few of the full-sized Cadenza’s installed options included: Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection System, Lane Departure Warning System, Bluetooth Wireless Technology, Panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, power rear window sunshade, heated outboard rear seats, heated leather wrapped steering wheel, and a Supervision Meter Cluster with 7-inch color LCD screen.
Big and beautiful on the outside, fully loaded for comfort and convenience on the inside, the 2014 Kia Cadenza can hold its own against just about any big luxury sedan. Powered by a 3.3 liter Direct Injected V6 engine linked to a silky smooth 6-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic technology and Steering Wheel mounted Paddle Shifters, the Cadenza was a pleasure to drive, especially for highway cruising. It comes with a big warranty, too – 10-year/100,000 mile Limited Powertrain warranty, and 5-year / 60,000 Limited Basis Warranty with Roadside Assistance.
